POMTOC Advances Terminal Modernization with Deployment of Tideworks Cloud TOS

Mainsail 10 and Spinnaker enhance operational efficiency and support growing trade volumes at PortMiami

MIAMI – March 3, 2026 – Port of Miami Terminal Operating Company (POMTOC), a leading cargo terminal operator at Port Miami, announced the successful go-live of Tideworks’ Mainsail 10 terminal operating system (TOS) and Spinnaker planning management system. This milestone marks a significant step forward in POMTOC’s ongoing terminal modernization strategy, reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence, scalability, and service reliability.

The deployment introduces a cloud-based TOS environment designed to support increasing cargo volumes and streamline terminal operations. By leveraging advanced, user-friendly features and enhanced security standards, POMTOC is strengthening its ability to efficiently manage cargo movement across its facilities.

The new platform is built on a flexible integration framework with standardized APIs, enabling seamless data exchange with third-party systems, terminal equipment, and partner platforms. This interoperability enhances coordination across the supply chain and supports more agile and responsive operations.

By integrating Mainsail 10 with Spinnaker, POMTOC benefits from enhanced command capabilities, configurable workflows, and real-time operational visibility for equipment dispatchers and mobile users. Hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and delivered through a cloud-based subscription model, the system allows POMTOC to transition critical infrastructure to a scalable and secure environment. This shift reduces reliance on on-site hardware while enabling the team to focus on core terminal operations and efficiently manage higher throughput.

“This go-live represents a major milestone in our modernization journey and reinforces our role as a reliable gateway for global trade,” said Gerard van den Heuvel, Chief Executive Officer of POMTOC. “We are committed to investing in advanced technologies that enhance operational performance, improve efficiency, and deliver greater value to our customers.”

The new deployment builds on POMTOC’s long-standing collaboration with Tideworks, complementing existing systems such as GateVision® and EDI Porter. Together, these solutions create a fully integrated platform that provides end-to-end operational visibility—from gate to yard to vessel.

Tideworks supported the implementation with comprehensive professional services, including project management, system configuration, installation, and user training, as well as hybrid onsite and remote go-live support.

Looking ahead, POMTOC plans to further expand its modernization initiatives with the future implementation of Tideworks’ Traffic Control equipment execution system. This solution is expected to optimize container handling, reduce unproductive moves, and enhance yard efficiency through real-time equipment coordination.
